Best way to OC the 630i

Hey,

I'm recently trying to OC my 630 to around 3ghz. I have red about it, and it should be easy doable with stock volt and cooler.

But as i tried, i coudn't do it the old way.. trough the bios. Simply because i can't find anything there that alows me to adjust the FSB...  I can change the volt, the mem, etc.. but not the FSB

So i tried the Nvidia tool.. but that is really anoying. I reached 2.7ghz with no prb, but as soon as i hitted 2.8, it still loaded to windows.. but then the whole screen just froze and you coudn't do anything. The only way to undo it, was to go to save mode and delete the profile you made in the Nvidia tool.

Have any of you have experience with Oc'ing your 630 and what result did you get? And especially, how did you managed to get it?

Kind regards,

I wish dell would Make a 680i motherboard upgrade for the 630. I would be willing to pay the normal price too. Im not asking for a handout (So save the crying baby picture cause I'm not whining). But maybe something not so old that I can drill for oil on it. Plus we would have a motherboard that " nforce System Tools" supports. Maybe it would solve some problems in the process.

yep, that 's good readin' but let's see home boy oc without usin' the fsb!   that's man style!  actually i think something is broke or whatever.  i've proved that i can't get x001 over the fact 1333mhz and i'm at the same 3.7ghz.  man if i could find the fsb answer, i know i could do 4g's with the liquid!

i just can't find it:(

goin' offline, frustrated!

actualy p95 is runnin' and gonna run all night tonight to test 3.697, sooooooooooooooooooooo

here's 30mins

kneenerkneenerkneener!

MS,

If you cant get even 1mhz over 1333 its not a voltage of simple issue like that.

It has to be hardware related.

I would bet its the mobo.

Since you cant up your FSB, have tou tried 1333mhz x 11 = 3.7Ghz and to get to 4.0ghz rase the multi to 12.  You should be able to keep you voltages low with this. at 3.7 try 1.4v CPU and 1.35vFSB. If that doesnt work up to 1.5vCPU and 1.4VFSB. If that works bring CPU volts down .01v(or what ever the smallest you can move is).

M$, turn your cpu fan to 100% in your NVidia Performance, if you don't want to screw up that cpu of yours

thanx ruski, all tests are run with cpu nvid fan adjust at 100%, exhaust fan at 100% and push fan attached to hs at 100%.

temps under normal use at the oc are 42* idle and flashes up to upper40's and some times low 50's when cpu steps up to the 3.69.

Glad to hear that you've got your temps controllable now M$, I know that it may seem loud, but I got used to it, lol. I'd rather have my comp running a bit loud, than at HOT temps and potentially damaging my hardware. Nice to hear some good news from you :)
