Who are you?
I thought I'd start a thread so people can introduce themselves. To participate, reply to this thread with the following information:
- Your location (as detailed or broad as you feel comfortable with)
- Your technical strengths
- One thing most people don't know about you
I'll start:
- I am in Massachusetts, but I'm from the Florida Panandle
- UNIX, SAN, and now I'm beefing up my IP networking administration skills
- I was in musicals in high school
OK, who's next?

As of now I am doing self learning through Skillsoft EMCISA training, usign the ISM book as a learning aid and also have collected some material from Internet.
I would haev been glad if I had got OJT in my company. I have putr across this request to move me to SAN or give me training on SAN but no one cares. Thay say I am crucial at my riole so they cant move me.
Could you please advice me if I will have the certification and knowledge but no experience in SAN, can I get a job in SAN. My current experience is in LAMP development and technical support for Microsoft and HP products.

Unfortunately, we cannot comment on how a certification will or won’t impact job opportunities. There was a great post recently discussing the value of holding a certification. I’ve provided a link here, in case you’re interested in viewing this post.
Best of luck to you!

Hi Gina,
I am looking into writting the ITIL3 FOundations exam. Can we use our EMC exam vouchures through Pearson VUE to write this exam? There is no info on the educational services website about the actual exam.
I feel ITIL should be part of the TC's track after we specialise in a certain storage sector.
Look forward to your response,
Fred

Hello Fred.
Vouchers for EMC Proven Professional exams can only be used for those exams. An ITIL Foundations voucher only allows you to take an ITIL Foundations exam at Pearson VUE. You could take the ITIL exam as part of attending an ITIL Foundations class. There are usually several scheduled months in advance at EMC. If you enroll in one of these, you will be all set. An alternative is to consume the ITIL V3 Foundations Certification - Video ILT which prepares you for that same ITIL exam. An ITIL exam voucher is packaged with the DVD for that course.
Regards,
Deepa.

Hi Deepa,
Thanks for the reply. I have ordered the video ILT- did not know you get a vouchure with it- that is fantastic. Will attempt to write this after my Solutions design exam at the end of this month.
Keep well,
Kind Regards,

Hi Keit,
I have read about you and thought I can talk to you. I am working from last couple of years on EMC and Brocade and CISCO SAN. I would like to grow on Design of SAN and Storage. Could you please give some insight how I can move on this filed. Are there any Resources available to learn these design aspects.
I appreciate you help on this regard.
Thanks and have wonderfull Day.

Hi,
We offer several documents on EMC.com on Storage networking
Also available are training courses, online and instructor led, on these subjects. Please refer to Advanced SAN Design Workshop, a course which focuses on the SAN Architect information and process within an EMC SAN. This course covers Fibre Channel, iSCSI, FCIP and other extension technologies, and FCoE designs. The labs are interactive and require you to apply the theory to a series of designs presented within the classroom setting.
I hope this helps,
Mike
