New BIOS got released. In the details it says it's to Fix Dell Thunderbolt Dock issue.

Also I see there is update to Intel Management Engine Components but when I tried to install that it says I have to remove the previous driver. I looked in my installed programs and there is nothing for Intel Management Engine. Anyone know how to get around this?

Like the Intel(R) Thunderbolt(TM) 3 Firmware Update few weeks ago, which told me I didn't need the update because I already had it, it seems these Intel updates from Dell don't quite seem to work as expected.

I had no problems installing the latest slew of updates (BIOS, ASMedia, Intel) but ever since my Display Port has *** out. Windows 10 sees the monitor but no actual video signal happening. It does work otherwise - I see the Dell boot-up splash screen. The miniDP port works fine... Anyone see anything like this or have any thoughts?

It has nothing to do with the drivers, just a coincidence that one of the two Synaptics DP hubs inside TB15 died on you at this time - the one labeled VMM3220B. Be happy, you had a long run, it had to be couple of months at least. Mine died initially after couple of weeks. It overheats, I tried all sorts of cooling solutions but it only delayed the inevitable. The mini DP and HDMI are controlled by a different hub (a different model IC) and those work fine.

I think every second BIOS update promises "fixing Dock issues" :)

I installed it but did not notice any changes. Installing Intel Management Engine bricked my laptop. One day I install Intel ME update the second one laptop does not start. Fortunately I am on warranty period and the technician replaced motherboard (to A03, old one was A00) but I did not notice any changes w.r.t. the dock.

Thanks Thysanoptera. Switched to HDMI and worked like a charm.

Thought I would try to see what support would say. Had a very helpful agent who initiated a dispatch of a new TB15.

I then received a call from Dell that the new TB16s are in and they have kicked off a replacement program and my dispatch was updated and I should receive my new TB16 in a few days.

Should be interesting...

I contacted support via live chat from support.dell.com. Perhaps factors could be: 1. Purchased in conjunction with 5510, 2. Purchased ProSupport Plus, 3. In the US?

I have an official email now from Dell saying I will be shipped a TB16 (and instructions on returning my TB15).

Interesting, had a look at TB16 manual and it has a fan, temperature controlled. I'm curious if they changed the motherboard at all and how the fan is mounted - the vents are on two sides only. There are quite a lot of topics in the FAQ about fan noise.

I too tried to receive credit but was turned away since it was past the 30 day period.  I was assured by tech support the refund would be possible but when I went to customer care they refused the refund!

So is the TB15 exchange using lottery system, basically based on your luck you may get one.

I don't currently use the display port as I use HDMI out to my Dell 3415w monitor along with built in laptop monitor as the 2nd screen but if the TB15 has issues they should be replacing all of them with corrected model. What Dell is doing currently is not respectable business practice. Also since the beginning my Logitech K800 Wireless Keyboard combo plugged into the dock has never worked correctly. There has been cases where one of the keys is sending that signal repeatedly and only way to get it back was to hard reboot because none of the menu option will work when windows thinks you are pressing and holding a key on the keyboard.

As for the worthless update packages found on Dell, it looks like someone updated the Intel Management Engine download package again but even the new one fails in the middle of the installation. Also when it fails it just leaves whatever was installed up to that point in your system and unless you specifically go and uninstall you system runs like that. Not sure if using it like that is acceptable. Arrrrgh...

Sony - I had same issues with usb keyboard and mouse, my problems were solved with the 3100 dock (the USB 3.0 one). I plug it into TB15 and all USB devices are plugged into 3100. In the end I still have only one connection to the laptop and no issues with USB devices. Maybe any powered USB hub would work.

Interesting that you were refused refund because I also got mine when TB15 came out and I requested replacement with TB16 240W and they said not replacement but will give me refund!

There is no consistency on any of the things Dell is doing to help with resolution and that's what makes this even more frustrating.

Does the TB16 have 240w option? Mine is TB15 240W and I would prefer to get TB16 204W as replacement.

For the replacement TB16, I was instructed to keep my current TB15 power supply which I assume means your watts will be the same as you had with your TB15 (some versions 240W, some 180W).
