Designed for harsh conditions—heat, dust, vibration, and humidity—they deliver enterprise-class compute at the edge with compact form factors, flexible deployment, and end-to-end security.
The XR-Series includes a full range of rugged, short-depth, and modular edge servers designed for diverse deployment needs:

XR servers overcome space, temperature, and reliability limits of traditional IT environments. They deliver low-latency edge processing for AI and automation, minimize data transfer costs, and ensure uptime even in unstable conditions.
Powered by Powered by Intel® Xeon® D or Intel® Xeon® processors (up to 64 cores), the XR-Series supports PCIe Gen5, DDR5 memory, and high-density NVMe storage. GPU options enable AI/ML workloads, and all systems support major OS and hypervisors including Windows, Linux, VMware, and Dell NativeEdge.
Integrated iDRAC9/10 and OpenManage provide lifecycle automation, monitoring, and fleet-scale control. Security features include silicon root of trust, Secure Boot/Erase, TPM 2.0, and signed firmware. NativeEdge orchestration enables app deployment consistency across sites.
XR servers are certified for NEBS Level 3 and MIL-STD ruggedness. They operate reliably from –5°C to 55°C (some configurations up to –20°C to 65°C) and are tested for shock, vibration, and dust resilience—ideal for telecom, industrial, and defense use cases.
The XR-Series is engineered for seven-year lifecycles, minimizing refresh costs and downtime. Performance-per-watt gains over prior generations improve energy efficiency and operating economics. Flexible consumption is available through Dell APEX Flex on Demand.
