| Service Scope | ProDeploy for Connectrix Switch or Blade | ProDeploy for Connectrix Director | ProDeploy Plus for Connectrix Switch or Blade | ProDeploy Plus for Connectrix Director |
| Ideal for: | ProDeploy is ideal for new greenfield environments of Fibre Channel switches with no existing data or configurations to migrate. | ProDeploy Plus includes the extra steps required for a SAN migration such as moving hosts and switch configurations to a new platform without disrupting operations. |
| Delivery model | Hardware is installed by Dell and software is configured remotely | Both hardware and software are installed onsite and configured by Dell to include onsite cutover assistance during critical network migration activities. |
| Number of ports installed or migrated | All ports on device | n/a – refer to blade | All ports on device | n/a – refer to blade |
| Number of hosts and zones created | 4 host and 16 zones per device | n/a – refer to blade | 4 host and 16 zones per device | n/a – refer to blade |
| Zones migrated from existing fabrics | Not covered | Not covered | 100 | 500 |
| Multivendor migration (for example: Cisco to Broadcom) | Not covered | Not covered | Must purchase Additional Deployment Time (ADT) based on scenario or scope as a Custom Statement of Work to address complexity |
| Additional hosts and zones | Optional 2-Host Add-on Service as required |
| Zone Cleanup (up to 500 zones) | This service provides a comprehensive cleanup and optimization of the Fibre Channel (FC) switch zoning database which is recommended during a new deployment or part of a regular maintenance. Dell engineers review the existing zone configurations, identify and remove stale or unused zone entries, and reorganize the database to align with current infrastructure and best practices. Service includes up to 500 zones (larger databases can be quoted separately). Benefits of Zone Cleanup
- Improve SAN performance and reliability by removing outdated or conflicting zone entries
- Enhance security and control of data paths between servers and storage
- Simplify future management and reduce operational risk from misconfigurations
- Ensure best-practice compliance for zoning structure and utilization
|
| Additional Deployment Time (remote or onsite) | Additional time to address FC Networking tasks such as:- Large, complex SAN migration (multi-location, more than two FCIP links, IPEX, etc.)
- Switch port configuration or reconfiguration for end devices such as servers, storage, (not to other networking devices)
- More knowledge transfer or special documentation
- Configuration changes on standalone and/or isolated switches
- Add more optics and activate Ports-On-Demand (POD) licenses
