In Deutschland ist Dell Mitglied des Gemeinsamen Rücknahmesystems Batterien (GRS). GRS übernimmt die in der Batterieverordnung festgelegte Verpflichtung der Hersteller und Importeure zur unentgeltlichen Rücknahme gebrauchter Batterien, zur Wiederverwertung der Batterien nach den bundesdeutschen Abfallbestimmungen und zur Entsorgung nicht recyclingfähiger Batterien.

GRS Batterien stellt zu diesem Zweck Rücknahmebehälter bereit und organisiert die Entsorgungsdienstleistungen, d. h. Logistik, Einsammlung, Transport, Sortierung, Wiederverwertung und/oder Entsorgung. Dell complies with the legal requirements for battery Takeback in Greece through membership of the collection scheme "AFIS".

Participation in the battery recycling system is not obligatory. Since Dell participates in the EEW collective system, recycling of laptop batteries is covered by our participation in that system.

Top Ireland

The Irish government implemented the Batteries Directive 2006/66/EC in September 2008. The legislation obligates all Producers and Distributors (Retailers) of batteries and/or accumulators to register with the WEEE Register Society (www.weeeregister.ie) and where they are supplying Portable or Automotive batteries provides an option to join a compliance scheme to help meet their collection, recycling and reporting requirements as specified in the Regulations. Two collective compliance schemes, ERP Ireland and WEEE Ireland have been approved.

These regulations provide for the free take back of all waste batteries and accumulators, otherwise known as rechargeable batteries, in-store and at designated locations, from 26 September 2008. Since that date –

• Members of the public will be entitled to deposit waste batteries at retail outlets.
• Retailers will only be obligated to take back batteries of a type they supply, for instance, retailers will not have to take back a car battery if they only sell batteries suitable for a torch or remote control.
• Members of the public will not be obliged to make a purchase when depositing waste batteries at a retail outlet.
• Members of the public will also be able to deposit waste portable batteries and waste car batteries from privately registered vehicles at local authority civic amenity facilities free of charge.

To ensure compliance with the regulations Dell has registered with the WEEE Register (Registration number IE 0358WB) and is a member of the European Recycling Platform (ERP) compliance scheme.

Dell has prohibited the use of hazardous substances specified in the regulations in all its batteries. Dell labels all applicable batteries with the crossed our wheelie bin and provides information to users on disposal of waste batteries on its website and documentation accompanying the products.

For discarding this type of equipment in a place not designed (e.g. Thrown in the trash, exposure or abandonment) can have a negative impact on the environment and human health. The consumer is punishable with a fine.

The crossed-out wheeled bin symbol on the product or on its packaging indicates that this product must not be disposed of with your other household waste.

It’s your responsibility to dispose of your waste equipment by handing it over to an authorized collection point for the recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment.



Dell Consumer customers can return their batteries with waste electrical and electronic equipment, as part of the Dell recycling program which can be accessed via the link www.dell.ie/Recycling for Consumers. This programme will also facilitate the return of obsolete Dell UPS batteries.

Dell é iscritta al registro Pile e Accumulatori (IT09060P00000639) ed é conforme al D. Lgs. 188/2008 che disciplina l’immissione sul mercato italiano delle pile e degli accumulatori nonché la raccolta, il trattamento, il riciclaggio e lo smaltimento dei rifiuti di pile ed accumulatori.

Bij Koninklijk Besluit van 31 januari 1995 trad het Besluit beheer batterijen in werking. Het Besluit werd gewijzigd en op 8 november 2000 gepubliceerd in het Staatsblad (nr. 487).

Om dit besluit na te leven, is Dell als milieubewust bedrijf lid van Stibat, de organisatie die de inzamelactiviteiten voor lege batterijen in Nederland coördineert.

Die Europäische Union hat die EU-Richtlinie 2006/66/EC über die Inverkehrsetzung, Sammlung und Verwertung von Batterien und Akkumulatoren veröffentlicht.

Österreich hat die Batterienverordnung (BGBl. II Nr. 159/2008) am 15. Mai 2008 verabschiedet.

Dell Österreich hat einen Vertrag mit dem ERP Umweltforum Haushalt abgeschlossen, um das Recycling der von Dell in Österreich in Verkehr gesetzten Batterien und Akkumulatoren zu sichern.

Vláda ČR zavedla dne 26. září 2006 směrnici o bateriích 2006/66 / ES. Právní předpisy ukládají všem výrobcům a distributorům (maloobchodníkům) baterií a / nebo akumulátorů, aby se připojili k systému shody, který pomůže splnit jejich požadavky na sběr, recyklaci a vykazování jak je uvedeno v předpisech. V České republice jsou společnost Dell členem schváleného vládního systému provozovaného společností Asekol CZ

Tyto předpisy zajišťují od 26. září 2008 bezplatný zpětný odběr všech použitých baterií a akumulátorů, jinak nazývaných dobíjecí baterie, v prodejnách a na určených místech.

• Členové veřejnosti budou mít právo ukládat odpadní baterie v maloobchodních prodejnách.
• Maloobchodníci budou povinni pouze převzít baterie typu, který dodávají, například prodejci nebudou muset vzít zpět automobilovou baterii, pokud budou prodávat pouze baterie vhodné pro baterku nebo dálkové ovládání.
• Při uložení odpadních baterií do maloobchodní prodejny nebude veřejnost povinna nakupovat.
• Členové veřejnosti budou mít možnost bezplatně ukládat odpadní přenosné baterie a autobaterie z osobně registrovaných vozidel do zařízení občanské vybavenosti místních orgánů.

Společnost Dell zakázala používání všech nebezpečných látek uvedených v předpisech ve všech svých bateriích. Společnost Dell označuje všechny použitelné baterie s přeškrtnutým košem a poskytuje uživatelům informace o likvidaci použitých baterií na svých internetových stránkách a dokumentaci doprovázející produkty.

Vyřazení tohoto typu zařízení na místě, které nebylo navrženo (např. Vyhazování do odpadu, expozice nebo opuštění), může mít negativní dopad na životní prostředí a lidské zdraví. Spotřebitel je potrestán pokutou.

Symbol přeškrtnutého odpadu na kolovém boku na výrobku nebo na jeho obalu znamená, že tento výrobek nesmí být likvidován s vaším domovním odpadem.



Je vaší povinností zlikvidovat vaše odpadní zařízení předáním do autorizovaného sběrného místa pro recyklaci odpadních elektrických a elektronických zařízení.

Na terenie Polski firma Dell spełnia wymagania prawne dotyczące postępowania z bateriami, dzięki członkostwu w organizacji odzysku RekoPol.

Obowiązujące przepisy prawne weszły w życie w maju 2001 roku i określają standardy, które muszą być spełniane przez przedsiębiorstwa od 2007-12-31. Dzięki członkostwu w organizacji RekoPol firma Dell spełnia wymagania prawne już dzisiaj.

• Členovia verejnosti budú môcť bezplatne ukladať odpadové prenosné batérie a batérie na batérie z súkromných registrovaných vozidiel v zariadeniach občianskej vybavenosti miestnych orgánov.

United Kingdom

Dell complies with the UK Battery Regulations legal requirements for battery take back in the UK through membership of the battery compliance scheme European Recycling Platform (ERP).

You can return your waste portable batteries to your local recycling or battery collection locations in person (please do not post). These sites can be found on the following website http://www.erp-batteries.co.uk/  by entering in your own town or postcode to find your nearest location.

Please note that non-retail premises will require notification to site management prior to returning in person.

Note: Most supermarkets and shops that sell batteries will have collection bins for used batteries, and some town halls, libraries, schools or civic amenity sites may also set up collection points. You may find stores in your local area more accessible.
