In this video, we will show you how to remove the LCD bezel from a display assembly. Before you begin, turn off the computer and unplug all attached peripherals and components mentioned as part of the prerequisites for removing the bezel in the Field Service Manual.
Ensure that you always use ESD protection when working inside the computer. Use a guitar pick instead of a scribe as it decreases the potential for damage. If you don't have a guitar pick handy, a plastic scribe can be used to pry up the display bezel.
Verify wether your computer has any recesses at the hinge caps where you can begin prying with a guitar pick to remove the display bezel. Carefully insert the guitar pick into the recesses to remove the bezel.
If your computer does not have recesses around the hinge caps, carefully insert the guitar pick into the bezel to remove it without causing any damage.
If the hinge caps are a removable component then remove the hinge caps by using a guitar pick and work your way around the outside edges to deattach the display bezel from the display cover. Then, slide the guitar pick horizontally to disengage the adhesive.
To avoid damage, carefully remove the display bezel from the display assembly. You have now successfully removed the LCD bezel from the display assembly without damaging the computer. If you require additional information or assistance, go to dell.com/support.
