How to Replace Fan for PowerEdge R750xa

Learn the proper removal and installation of a cooling fan. Follow precise steps for safe handling, ensuring correct alignment and cable connection. Maintain efficient cooling for optimal system performance.

Prerequisites
Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions.
Power off the system and all attached peripherals.
Disconnect the system from the electrical outlet, and disconnect the peripherals.
If applicable, remove the system from the rack.
Remove the system cover.

Removing a cooling fan:
Press the orange release tab and lift the cooling fan to disconnect the fan from the connector on the system board.
WARNING: Ensure not to tilt or rotate the cooling fan while removing from the system.

Installing a cooling fan:
Align and slide the cooling fan into the cooling fan cage assembly until the fan clicks into place.
NOTE: The air flow arrow on the cooling fan must face towards rear side of the system.

Replace the system cover.
If applicable, install the system into the rack.
Reconnect the peripherals and connect the system to the electrical outlet, and then power on the system.
