Instructions
Computers that are equipped with Wireless Wide Area Network (WWAN) capability have an IMEI number that is assigned to the wireless device. This information is required when activating the computer with your WWAN carrier.
NOTE: This is only applicable for computers that have WWAN support and which can connect to a cellular network. IMEI number is not assigned to Wireless (Wi-Fi) or Bluetooth devices or adapters.
Where Do You Find the IMEI Number in Windows 11 and Windows 10.
The International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) is a unique 15-digit code that helps phone companies know which phone is which, helping mobile networks to identify and authenticate devices. If a phone is lost or stolen, they can use this number to help find it or stop it from being used.
To find your IMEI number in Windows 11 or Windows 10, complete the following steps:
Option 1:
- Press the Windows Key on your keyboard. You can also click or tap the Windows Button (lower left corner).
- In the Search box type, settings, and then select Settings (system) from the search results.
- Select Network & Internet > Cellular > Advanced Options.
- The IMEI number is listed in the Connection Properties.
NOTE: If your computer does not have a listing for Cellular, it is likely the computer does not have a cellular modem (WWAN module) installed.
Option 2:
- Press the Windows Key on your keyboard. You can also click or tap the Windows Button (lower left corner).
- In the Search box type, settings, and then select Settings (system) from the search results.
- Select Network & Internet > Advanced Network Settings > Hardware and connection properties.
- See if a cellular modem (WWAN module) is listed.
NOTE: If your computer does not have a listing for the cellular modem (WWAN module), it is likely the computer does not have one installed.
Option 3:
- Press the Windows Key and r.
- In the Run box type, msinfo32, and then select OK.
- On the System Information window, expand Components on the left panel, then Network, and select Adapter. See if a cellular modem (WWAN module) is listed.
NOTE: If your computer does not have a listing for the cellular modem (WWAN module), it is likely the computer does not have one installed.
