Data Domain ConnectEMC disabled settings after the DDOS upgrade to 6.2.0.30
Summary: After the DDOS upgrade to 6.2.0.30 the previous ConnectEMC notification settings seems rollback to email.
Symptoms
After a DDOS upgrade to 6.2.0.30, the previous ConnectEMC notification settings is rollback to email and new Alerts are not sent to us.
Before the upgrade the ASUP shows a value:
config_master.support.notification.method = connectemc
And the command line:
# support notification method show Notification method is set to "connectemc".
After the 6.2.0.30 code upgrade, the notification is set to email:
# support notification method show Notification method is set to "email".
Cause
In this release, ConnectEMC has been changed to support the Secure Remote Service Virtual Edition (Secure Remote Services VE) gateway. This change requires a reconfiguration of the Data Domain system to ConnectEMC after the upgrade.
During the upgrade, if ConnectEMC is detected as configured, the existing configuration is removed. In addition, if the support notification method is configured as ConnectEMC to send event messages to the company, it switches to email.
Resolution
After the upgrade, you can reconfigure the ConnectEMC with a new ConnectEMC command:
support connectemc device register
After ConnectEMC is configured, enable ConnectEMC with:
support notification method set connectemc
