Resolution

A workaround is to configure the management IP manually to bring both heads on the network.
The following commands needs to be run on both the nodes:
  1. Set the hostname:
net set hostname <mydd.mycompany.com>

mydd.mycompany.com is the name of the head
  1. Set the IP address and bring up the interface:
net config <ifname> <ipaddr> up

ifname -
Is the name of the ethernet port or virtual ethernet port
ipaddr -  IP of the head

E.g.: net config ethMa <IP address> netmask <subnet address> up
  1. Set the DNS:
net set dns <ipaddr1>
  1. Set the Gateway:
route set gw <ipaddress>

Once both heads are on the network, follow KB article 502203: Data Domain High Availability: How to configure HA for a new installation? using 'ha create peer'  to configure the HA manually.
