Instructions
Both the Avamar and Data Domain Components in an IDPA solution, send out one or more Connect Home messages every day via ESRS to Dell EMC, even if there are no problems. But this is not true for the Data Protection Advisor, or the Appliance Control Manager. Both the DPA and ACM only send out Connect Home messages when there is an alert.
Sending a test Connect Home message from Avamar: Avamar Administrator:
Log into the Avamar Administrator.
Select Tools Manage ConnectEMC.
If not already highlighted select Primary Transport in the left Pane.
If the current Primary Transport type is HTTPS, then press the Test button.
If the current Primary Transport type is other than HTTPS, then press the Edit Button.
In the Edit Primary Transport window Click on the carrot in the Transport Type, and select HTTPS.
In the URL field, enter in the IP address of the ESRS gateway with port 9443, and press OK.
You will be sent back to the Manage ConnectEMC window, where you can now press the Test button.
Avamar Command Line:
Log into the Avamar CLI via SSH as user admin.
Enter in this command: mccli event publish --code=22922 --attribute=level --value=info --message= Test

Log into DDOS Command Line as user sysadmin.
