Symptoms
When upgrading the VNX File OE from 8.1.6.96 to a later version or running the dbchk command, users receive an error message "File system with id xxxxx had a mount record present in /nas/server/xxxxx/mount file but was not in use in filesys table. "
Eg: $ /nas/tools/dbchk
Error: File system with id 24557 has mount record present in /nas/server/slot_2/mount file but is not in use in filesys table.
Cause
It is a known issue in VNX File code 8.1.6.96 and later.
Resolution
Manually fix file system table inconsistencies by re-mounting the file server in the following way:
1. Running the following File CLI command to discover which server on which the file system is mounted:
# nas_fs -info id=<file system ID>
Using the the id value obtained from the error message
2. Run the following File CLI command:
# server_mount <server_name> id=<file system ID>
Using the server_name obtained from the previous command (Item #1).
Run the /nas/tools/dbchk command to confirm.
