ERROR: Detected 16 devices without a UID (for example, RPA port=(WWN=0x5001248xxxxxx), storage port=(WWN=0xxxxxxxxxxxxx), volume=0x0, vendor=HP, product=MSA 2040 SAN). If you wish to replicate these LUNs, contact EMC Customer Service. Otherwise, unmap the LUNs. ; site-rpa ; RPA 2 in xxxx

Cause

The error message indicates that a third-party storage is zoned to a RecoverPoint system, which is not supported to work with RecoverPoint directly. RecoverPoint must work with a VPLEX to replicate third-party storage as source or replica.

Resolution

Workaround:
Unmask the third-party storage ports World Wide Name (WWN) from RPA (zoning on switches).

Resolution:
VPLEX can be used to allow replication of third-party storage disks as source or target.
