These guides will take you, step by step through the safe removal of what are considered to be the Customer Replaceable Unit (CRU) parts of a Latitude E5470 notebook system. (CRUs are the parts of the system that shouldn't need an engineer to remove or replace.) The guides will also include pictures to reference what's involved.

Pre-Removal Instructions Before removing the Main Access Panel:
During installation or removal of any hardware always ensure all data is backed up properly
Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer
Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets
Loosen the eight (8) captive screws that secure the cover to the chassis [1]
Use a plastic scribe or some other probe that won't damage the plastics to [2] to pry up the base cover starting from the top left corner, then pry along the edges between the cover and the chassis to separate the cover from the computer [3]
Lift the base cover off of the system
Pre-Removal Instructions Before removing the Battery:
During installation or removal of any hardware always ensure all data is backed up properly
Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer
Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets
Please remove the System Cover
The battery is located at the bottom of the system, disconnect the battery cable from the motherboard [1] and remove the screw that secures the top right-hand corner of the battery to the chassis [2]
Lift the battery up and out of the system [3]

Pre-Removal Instructions Before removing the Memory Card:
During installation or removal of any hardware always ensure all data is backed up properly
Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer
Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets
Please remove the System Cover and Battery
The memory is located in the middle of the system, pull the metal clips on either side of the dimm away from each other to have the memory pop up in the connector [1] and pull it out of the connector [2]
Repeat for any additional memory installed

During installation or removal of any hardware always ensure all data is backed up properly
Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer
Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets
Please remove the System Cover and Battery
The HDD is located at the bottom left-hand corner of the system, disconnect the HDD cable from the motherboard [1] and remove the four (4) screws securing the drive to the chassis [2]
Lift and remove the drive from the system [3]

Pre-Removal Instructions Before removing the M.2 Solid State Drive (SSD):
During installation or removal of any hardware always ensure all data is backed up properly
Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer
Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets
Please remove the System Cover and Battery
The M.2 SSD card is located to the left of the battery, remove the screw securing the card to the palmrest [1] and the SSD card will pop up at an angle from the chassis and you can pull it out of the connector and the system [2]
Pre-Removal Instructions Before removing the PCIe Solid State Drive (SSD):
During installation or removal of any hardware always ensure all data is backed up properly
Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer
Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets
Please remove the System Cover and Battery
The PCIe SSD card is located to the left of the battery, remove the two (2) screws securing the SSD bracket card to the palmrest [1] and remove the SSD bracket [2] and the SSD card will pop up at an angle from the chassis and you can pull it out of the connector and the system [3]
Pre-Removal Instructions Before removing the Keyboard:
During installation or removal of any hardware always ensure all data is backed up properly
Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer
Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets
Please remove the System Cover and Battery
Disconnect the keyboard cables from their zif connectors underneath the battery on the base of the system [1] (The number of cables changes depending on your configuration.)
Use a plastic scribe or some other probe that won't damage the plastics to pry up the keyboard trim around the edges of the keyboard [1,2,3]
Remove the five (5) screws securing the keyboard to the palmrest [4] and lift the keyboard from the PC [5]
Pre-Removal Instructions Before removing the SIM Card :
During installation or removal of any hardware always ensure all data is backed up properly
Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer
Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets
Straighten out a paperclip or use the SIM card removal tool to insert into the pinhole on the left-hand side of the SIM card tray [1]
The card tray should partially eject from the side of the system [2]
Grip the SIM card and remove it from the SIM card tray
Pre-Removal Instructions Before removing the WLAN CARD (WiFi, Wireless):
During installation or removal of any hardware always ensure all data is backed up properly
Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer
Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets
Please remove the System Cover and Battery
The WLAN card is in the left-hand corner of the system opposite the system fan, remove the single screw [1] that secures the WLAN card bracket to the chassis and remove the bracket from the system [2]
Disconnect the antenna cables from the card [3] by lifting up the press stud connectors until they pop off and lift the card out of the connector [4] and the system
Pre-Removal Instructions Before removing the WWAN Card (3G, Cellular):
During installation or removal of any hardware always ensure all data is backed up properly
Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer
Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets
Please remove the System Cover and Battery
The WWAN card is above the WLAN card, remove the single screw [1] that secures the WWAN card to the chassis and disconnect the antenna cables from the card [3] by lifting up the press stud connectors until they pop off the card.
Lift the card out of the connector [4] and the system
