1.Creating a Firmware Baseline

  1. On OpenManage Enterprise, click: Configuration, then Firmware
  2. To create a new baseline, click: Create Baseline.
  3. On the "Create Firmware Baseline" box, select catalog type, name your baseline, and, optionally, add a description for the baseline.
  4. Once you've named your baseline, click: Next.
  5. Select, Select Groups, and click Select Groups.
  6. Choose servers and click OK.
  7. Click Finish

 


2. Viewing Baseline Reports

  1. On OpenManage Enterprise, click: Configuration, then Firmware
  2. To view a baseline report, select the checkbox for the required baseline.
  3. Click, View Report.

 


3. Applying Updates

  1. On OpenManage Enterprise, click: Configuration, then Firmware.
  2. To view a baseline report, select the checkbox for the required baseline.
  3. Click, View Report. You will see a Compliance Report from the list where you can select either all devices or an  individual device.
  4. Click Update Firmware tab. A pop up window which says Schedule Update and will have 3 options to select from.
    1. Update Now: Firmware updates will be applied immediately. If a server is selected, it may cause the server to reboot.
    2. Stage for next server reboot check box. The Firmware update is staged and applied on the next server reboot.
    3. Schedule Later: Select to specify a date and time when the firmware version must be updated. You can run the job at a later time.
  5. Select any one of the option and click Update. A firmware update job is created and listed in the Jobs list and the updates will be applied accordingly.
