Symptoms

One node is reporting the high availability (HA) agent running successfully, other nodes report errors.

Cause

Node certificate issues

Resolution

To resolve this issue:

  1. Disable HA on the cluster - it allows migrating virtual machines between hosts once disabled
  2. Offload VMs from the problematic node (the only node which has a running HA Agent)
  3. Place the node into Maintenance Mode
  4. Disconnect the host from the cluster
  5. Reconnect the host to the cluster
  6. Enable HA on the cluster - HA status on all nodes should be green
