PowerEdge: Error 1328 when installing the OMSA 11.0.0.1 patch on Windows
Summary: A version 11.0.0.1 Windows patch for Dell OpenManage Server Administrator (OMSA) v11.0.0 could fail during install with Error 1328 due to OMSA 11.0.0 being released as version "A01" which already contains the patched libraries. ...
Symptoms
Error 1328: Error applying patch to file <file>. It has probably been updated by other means and can no longer be modified by this patch.
Cause
Resolution
Disregard the error and cancel applying the v11.0.0.1 patch as it is no longer necessary.
Dell is removing the v11.0.0.1 patch from www.dell.com/support to save confusion.
If you are not sure if you have the correct OMSA revision of either A00 or A01, open the Properties page of C:\Program Files\Dell\SysMgt\omastart.exe. Under the Details tab if the File version is "11.0.0.5268" then you have the latest A01 revision installed.
If you have a lesser build number than 5268, then A00 is still installed and should upgrade to OMSA 11.0.0 A01 to add PERC S160 software RAID support as well fix a security issue found with the OMSA installer.
To upgrade to OMSA 11.0.0 A01, you will need to first uninstall A00 (due to same version 11.0.0) and then fresh install A01.
