The Brighness in Windows Mobility Center Does Not Correspond with the On Screen Display in Windows 7
 

The brightness level as reported in the Windows Mobility Center in Windows 7 may not correspond to the bightness on the Dell Quickset On Screen Display (OSD), which will show the brightness at the maximum level. Adjusting the brightness level using the <Fn> + <Down> or <Up> key combinations has no effect on the reported level with the Quickset OSD. Additionally, after a few moments of adjusting the brightness using the keyboard combinations, the Windows Mobility Center will revert to the maximum brightness setting (Figure 1).

Currently, updating the system BIOS and installing a new version of Quickset are the only two possible solutions, but may not resolve the compatibility issue. Old versions of Quickset are incompatible with Windows 7.

Download and Install the Latest Version of Dell™ QuickSet
 

To download and install the latest version of Dell Quickset, perform the following steps:

1. Click here to enter the Drivers and Downloads page.

2. Click on

   Enter a Tag

   to use your service tag to find the driver, then click

   Go

   .
    

   	Note:
   	If the Service Tag is not available, click on Select Model , select the appropriate Product Type and Product Model, then click Confirm .

3. Select the operating system installed on your computer from the Operating System: dropdown box.

4. Select Applications from the Category: dropdown box.

5. Click the desired driver for your system displayed in the File Title(s) column to display the download page.

    

   	Note:
   	If you have the information provided from the online System Information utility or your invoice, please refer to this for what drivers to download.

   
   Review the information on the page and take note of  Installation Instructions, and Important Information.

6. Click Download. You may receive a warning and an option to run or save the file.

7. Click Save.

8. When the Save As window appears, designate a folder to save the file that is being downloaded and click Save. The download progress window displays.

9. When the download is complete, follow the instructions provided in the Installation Instructions.

Download e installazione del BIOS più recente
 

1. Accedere alla pagina Driver e download.

2. Per individuare l'aggiornamento del BIOS utilizzando il codice di matricola, fare clic su Inserire un codice di matricola .

    

   	Nota
   	Se il codice di matricola non è disponibile, fare clic su Seleziona modello e selezionare il tipo di prodotto e il modello del prodotto.

3. Fare clic su Conferma.

4. Selezionare il sistema operativo, la lingua del driver e le impostazioni di priorità dalle caselle con menu a discesa (Figura 1). Il menu a discesa Categoria deve essere impostato su BIOS.

    

   Sistema operativo:         Windows Vista a 32 bit Lingua del driver:         Italiano Categoria:         BIOS Importanza:         Tutte

5. Per visualizzare la pagina del download, selezionare il pacchetto di aggiornamento del BIOS che si desidera scaricare dalla colonna denominata Titolo file.

    

   	Nota
   	Se si dispone delle informazioni ottenute tramite l'utilità System Information (Informazioni di sistema) online o presenti sulla fattura, usarle come riferimento per stabilire quali driver scaricare.

6. Rivedere le informazioni contenute nella pagina.

7. Fare clic su Download Now (Download). Potrebbero essere visualizzati un messaggio di avviso e un'opzione per aprire o salvare il file.

    

   	Nota
   	Se viene visualizzata la finestra del Driver Download Manager di Dell, fare clic su Install (Installa).

8. Fare clic su Salva.

9. Quando viene visualizzata la finestra Salva con nome, indicare una cartella in cui salvare il file da scaricare e fare clic su Salva.

10. Al termine del download, fare clic su Open Folder (Apri cartella) nella finestra del Driver Download Manager di Dell.

11. Fare doppio clic sul file e seguire le istruzioni fornite nella sezione relativa alle istruzioni di installazione.
