The Brighness in Windows Mobility Center Does Not Correspond with the On Screen Display in Windows 7
 

The brightness level as reported in the Windows Mobility Center in Windows 7 may not correspond to the bightness on the Dell Quickset On Screen Display (OSD), which will show the brightness at the maximum level. Adjusting the brightness level using the <Fn> + <Down> or <Up> key combinations has no effect on the reported level with the Quickset OSD. Additionally, after a few moments of adjusting the brightness using the keyboard combinations, the Windows Mobility Center will revert to the maximum brightness setting (Figure 1).

Currently, updating the system BIOS and installing a new version of Quickset are the only two possible solutions, but may not resolve the compatibility issue. Old versions of Quickset are incompatible with Windows 7.

Download and Install the Latest Version of Dell™ QuickSet
 

To download and install the latest version of Dell Quickset, perform the following steps:

1. Click here to enter the Drivers and Downloads page.

2. Click on

   Enter a Tag

   to use your service tag to find the driver, then click

   Go

   .
    

   	Note:
   	If the Service Tag is not available, click on Select Model , select the appropriate Product Type and Product Model, then click Confirm .

3. Select the operating system installed on your computer from the Operating System: dropdown box.

4. Select Applications from the Category: dropdown box.

5. Click the desired driver for your system displayed in the File Title(s) column to display the download page.

    

   	Note:
   	If you have the information provided from the online System Information utility or your invoice, please refer to this for what drivers to download.

   
   Review the information on the page and take note of  Installation Instructions, and Important Information.

6. Click Download. You may receive a warning and an option to run or save the file.

7. Click Save.

8. When the Save As window appears, designate a folder to save the file that is being downloaded and click Save. The download progress window displays.

9. When the download is complete, follow the instructions provided in the Installation Instructions.

Pobieranie i instalowanie najnowszego systemu BIOS
 

1. Przejdź na stronę Sterowniki i pliki do pobrania.

2. Kliknij łącze Wprowadź numer seryjny , aby znaleźć uaktualnienie systemu BIOS na podstawie numeru seryjnego.

    

   	Uwaga:
   	Jeśli numer seryjny jest niedostępny, kliknij łącze Wybierz model, a następnie wybierz odpowiedni Typ produktu i Model produktu.

3. Kliknij przycisk Wyślij.

4. Wybierz z pól rozwijanych żądany System operacyjny, Wersję językową sterownika oraz Priorytet (Rysunek 1). Pole Kategoria powinno zostać ustawione na BIOS.

    

   System operacyjny         Windows Vista w wersji 32-bitowej Wersja językowa sterownika:         angielski Kategoria:         BIOS Priorytet:         Wszystko

5. Wybierz żądaną aktualizację systemu BIOS w kolumnie zatytułowanej Nazwa pliku, aby wyświetliła się strona pobierania.

    

   	Uwaga:
   	Informacje na temat tego jakie sterowniki należy pobrać znaleźć można dzięki internetowemu narzędziu z informacjami o systemie lub na fakturze.

6. Sprawdź informacje zamieszczone na stronie.

7. Kliknij łącze Pobierz teraz. Może pojawić się ostrzeżenie i możliwość wyboru pomiędzy uruchomieniem, a zapisaniem pliku.

    

   	Uwaga:
   	Jeśli zostanie wyświetlone okno programu Dell Driver Download Manager, kliknij przycisk Install (Instaluj).

8. Wybierz przycisk Zapisz.

9. Gdy pojawi się okno Zapisz jako, wybierz folder, w którym zapisany ma zostać pobierany plik i kliknij przycisk Zapisz.

10. Po zakończeniu pobierania kliknij polecenie Open Folder (Otwórz folder) w programie Dell Driver Download Manager.

11. Kliknij dwukrotnie plik i wykonaj instrukcje podane w opisie Installation Instructions (Instrukcje dotyczące instalacji).
