Machine accounts attempting to authenticate to a VNX CIFS Server will fail with NT Status STATUS_NOLOGON_WORKSTATION_TRUST_ACCOUNT. This can be seen from a network trace.

Orsak

This behaviour is determined by the value of MSV1_0_ALLOW_WORKSTATION_TRUST_ACCOUNT.
By default, MSV1_0_ALLOW_WORKSTATION_TRUST_ACCOUNT is disabled on a VNX DM. That is why, by default, machine accounts are not allowed to authenticate.

Upplösning

To allow a machine account to authenticate to VNX CIFS Server, a parameter will have to be edited by Dell EMC support. Contact Dell EMC Support and quote this knowledge article.
