Removing system
board
NOTE:Depending on the configuration you order, you
may see either of the heat sinks as shown in the
image below.
- Follow the procedure in Before working inside
your computer.
- Remove the:
- cover
- bezel
- heat sink
- processor
- expansion card
- hard drive and optical drive module
- memory module
- M.2 PCIe SSD
- SD card reader
- To remove the I/O panel:
- Remove the screw that secures the I/O panel

- Slide and push toward the front from the
computer [2].
- Disconnect the following cables from the system
board:
- speaker [1]
- 2.5–inch drive [2]
- optical drive [3]
- Data cable [4]
- Disconnect the following cables and screw from
the system board:
- PSU [1]
- hard drive and optical drive caddy stand
off screw [2]
- PSU [3]
- power switch [4]
- intrusion switch [5]
- To remove the system board:
- Remove the screws that secure the system
board to the computer [1].
- Slide and lift the system board away from
the computer [2].
