Removing system board

NOTE:Depending on the configuration you order, you may see either of the heat sinks as shown in the image below.

Heat sink

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the:
    1. cover
    2. bezel
    3. heat sink
    4. processor
    5. expansion card
    6. hard drive and optical drive module
    7. memory module
    8. M.2 PCIe SSD
    9. SD card reader
  3. To remove the I/O panel:
    1. Remove the screw that secures the I/O panel [1].
    2. Slide and push toward the front from the computer [2].

  4. Disconnect the following cables from the system board:
    1. speaker [1]
    2. 2.5–inch drive [2]
    3. optical drive [3]
    4. Data cable [4]

  5. Disconnect the following cables and screw from the system board:
    1. PSU [1]
    2. hard drive and optical drive caddy stand off screw [2]
    3. PSU [3]
    4. power switch [4]
    5. intrusion switch [5]

  6. To remove the system board:
    1. Remove the screws that secure the system board to the computer [1].
    2. Slide and lift the system board away from the computer [2].
