Procedure

  1. Lift the speaker off the palm-rest assembly.

  2. Remove the screws that secure the keyboard shield to the palm-rest assembly.
  3. Lift the keyboard shield off the keyboard.

  4. Open the latches and disconnect the keyboard cable and keyboard-backlight cable (optional) from the system board.
    • NOTE: The keyboard-backlight cable is present only if the laptop shipped with a backlit keyboard.
  5. Lift the keyboard, along with the cables, off the palm-rest assembly.
