Removing system board

Steps

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the:
    1. SIM card
    2. base cover
    3. battery
    4. keyboard trim
    5. keyboard
    6. WLAN card
    7. WWAN card (optional)
    8. hard drive assembly(optional)
    9. SSD card
    10. memory module
    11. coin cell battery
    12. heatsink
    13. system fan
    14. chassis frame
  3. Disconnect the following cables from the system board:
    1. Speaker [1]
    2. LED board [2]
    3. Touchpad [3]

  4. To release the system board:
    1. Remove the M2*2 screw that secures the display cable [1].
    2. Lift the metal bracket that secures the display cable [2].
    3. Disconnect the display cable from the connectors on the system board [3].
      NOTE This step is applicable only for IR camera.
    4. Disconnect the power connector port cable from the connector on the system board [4].
    5. Remove the M2*2 screws that secure the metal bracket[5] .
      NOTE The metal bracket secures the DisplayPort over USB Type-C.
    6. Lift the metal bracket away from the system board [6].

  5. To remove the system board:
    1. Remove the M2*2 screws that secure the system board to the computer [1].
    2. Lift the system board away from the computer [2].
