Removing the LED board

Steps

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the:
    1. base cover
    2. battery
  3. To remove the LED board:
    1. Lift the latch and disconnect the LED board cable [1].
      NOTE: Use a sharp tool or a plastic scribe to gently lift the latch.
    2. Release the LED board cable from the laptop [2].
      NOTE: LED board cable is glued with a adhesive,ensure to peel gently to avoid damage.
    3. Peel the adhesive tape to access the LED board [3].

    4. Lift the LED board away from the laptop .
      NOTE: The LED board is secured on a cylindrical plastic hook. Ensure to lift the board without a damage to the LED board hole, that secures it on the system board.
