Removing the system board

Steps

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the:
    1. base cover
    2. battery
    3. hard disk
    4. memory module
    5. coin cell battery
    6. WLAN card
    7. system fan
    8. heat sink
  3. To disconnect the following cables from the system board:
    1. Lift the latch and disconnect the touch screen cable and display cable [1].
    2. Pull the plastic label and release the I/O board cable on the system board [2].
    3. Pull the label to disconnect the HDD cable on the system board [3]
    4. Lift the latch and release the touchpad cable [4].
    5. Disconnect the keyboard back lid cable [5].
    6. Lift the latch and release the keyboard cable [6].
    7. Lift the latch and release the LED cable [7]
    8. Disconnect the speaker cable on the system board [8].
    9. Disconnect the power connector port cable on the system board [9].

    10. Remove the metal bracket screws (2) that secures the USB Type-C to the system board [1].
    11. Lift the metal bracket from the system board [2].

  4. To remove the system board:
    1. Remove the screws (3) that secure the system board to the laptop [1].
    2. Lift the system board away from the laptop[2].
