Removing the SSD

Steps

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the:
    1. base cover
    2. battery
    3. hard drive assembly
  3. To remove the M.2 SSD:
    1. Disconnect the HDD (hard drive) interposer cable from the connector on the system board [1].
    2. Remove the single (M2.5x6) screw that secures the SDD bracket to the HDD [2].
    3. Remove the SSD bracket [3].
    4. Remove the single (M2.5x6) screw that secures the SSD to the HDD, and slide the SSD out of the slot on the HDD interposer board [4].
    5. Remove the three (M2.5x6) screws from the HDD enclosure and remove the HDD interposer board from the enclosure [5].
