Your Alienware m17 R5 AMD supports one of the following storage configurations:

One M.2 2230/2280 slot for solid-state drive, for computers shipped with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti graphics card
Two M.2 2230/2280 slots for solid-state drives, for computers shipped with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060/3070 Ti/3080 Ti graphics card and AMD Radeon RX 6700M and RX 6850M XT graphics card

The primary drive of your Alienware m17 R5 AMD varies with the storage configuration. The primary drive of your computer is the M.2 drive where the operating system is installed.
