Removing the system board

Prerequisites

  1. Follow the procedure in before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the microSD card.
  3. Remove the base cover.
  4. Remove the battery.

Steps

  1. Disconnect the input output board cables [1], touchpad cable [2] and the keyboard cable [3].

  2. Disconnect the world facing camera cable [1], EMR cable [2], USB Type-C power cable [3] and the speaker cable [4] from the system board.

  3. Remove the single (M2x3) screw that secures the WLAN bracket to the system board [1], and lift the WLAN bracket from the system board [2].
  4. Disconnect the two wireless antennas from the connector on the system board [3].
  5. Remove the single (M2x4) screw that secures the eDP bracket to the system board and remove the eDP bracket [4, 5].
  6. Pull back the adhesive tape securing the display cable [6] and disconnect the display cable from the system board [7].

  7. Lift the system board bracket away from the computer.

  8. Remove the four (M2.0x4.0) screws that secure the system board to the palmrest [1].
  9. Lift and remove the system board from the computer [2].
