Proxy Settings

Dell Precision Optimizer takes the proxy settings from the Microsoft Internet Explorer web browser which works usually. However, there may be systems where the user has specific proxy settings that are not set up correctly in the Internet Explorer. In such cases, this option allows you to configure Dell Precision Optimizer to connect to the Dell servers through the specified Internet proxy, if required.

Option Function
Use Current Internet Proxy Settings

Use existing internet proxy settings on the system. A systems global proxy configuration for Windows is set in the Microsoft Internet Explorer web browser.

Proxy Server

Enter the name or the IP address of the proxy server.
Proxy Port

Enter the proxy port number.
Use Proxy Authentication

Select the check box to use the proxy authentication.
Username

Enter the user name for accessing the proxy server.
Password

Enter the password for accessing the proxy server.
Show Password

Select the check box to show the password for the proxy server.
