Removing the Palmrest

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove:
    1. SD card
    2. battery
    3. base cover
    4. keyboard trim
    5. keyboard
    6. memory
    7. optical drive
    8. hard drive
    9. hard-drive cage
    10. display hinge
  3. Remove the screws at the back of the computer and disconnect:
    1. power-connector cable [1] and [2]
    2. media-buttons cable [1] and [2]
    3. touch-pad cable [1] and [2]
    4. fingerprint-scanner cable [1] and [2]

  4. Perform the following steps:
    1. Remove the screws that secure the palmrest of the computer.
