Removing the display assembly

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer .
  2. Remove the:
    1. base cover

    2. battery

    3. WLAN

    4. WWAN

  3. To remove the display hinge brackets:
    1. Remove the screw that secures the display hinge bracket to the computer [1].
    2. Remove the display hinge bracket from the computer [2].

  4. To disconnect display cable:
    1. Unroute the WLAN and WWAN cables from the dock frame [1].
    2. Remove the screw that secures the eDP cable bracket to the computer [2].
    3. Remove the eDP cable bracket to access the display cable [3].
    4. Disconnect the eDP cable from the system board [4].

  5. To disconnect the display assembly:
    1. Unroute the display cable from the dock frame [1].
    2. Remove the screws that secure the display assembly [2]
    3. Release the antenna cables and display cable from the routing channel [3].

  6. To remove the display assembly:
    1. Remove the screws that secure the display assembly to the computer [1].
    2. Open the display [2] and lift the display assembly to remove it from the computer [3].
