Removing the Heat Sink

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove:
    1. SD card
    2. ExpressCard
    3. battery
    4. hard drive
    5. optical drive
    6. base cover
    7. keyboard trim
    8. keyboard
    9. bluetooth module
    10. palmrest
    11. media board
    12. display hinge covers
    13. display assembly
    14. system board
  3. Disconnect the heat sink cable from the system board.

  4. Remove the screws that secure the heat sink to the system board.
