Removing the Display Assembly

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove:
    1. battery

    2. base cover

    3. keyboard trim

    4. keyboard

    5. hard drive

    6. palmrest

  3. Release the WWAN and WLAN cables from their routing channels.Figure displaying unrouting the WWAN and WLAN cable.
  4. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration:
    1. Release the screw to release the metal bracket that secures the display-assembly cable [1].
    2. Remove the metal bracket to access the display-assembly cable [2].
    3. Disconnect the display-assembly cables from their connectors on the system board [3] [4].

  5. Pull the WLAN, WWAN and display-assembly cables from the holes on the base chassis that secure the display assembly to the computer. Figure displaying removing antenna cables.
  6. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration:
    1. Remove the screws that secure the display assembly to the computer [1].
    2. Lift the display assembly to remove from the computer [2].
