Removing the power distribution boards

Prerequisites

CAUTION: Many repairs may only be done by a certified service technician. You should only perform troubleshooting and simple repairs as authorized in your product documentation, or as directed by the online or telephone service and support team. Damage due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not covered by your warranty. Read and follow the safety instructions that are shipped with your product.

Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions section.
Follow the procedure listed in the Before working inside your system section.
Remove the power supply units (PSUs).
Keep the Philips #2 and the Torx T20 screwdrivers ready.

Steps

Disconnect all the cables from the power distribution board 1 (PDB 1).
Observe the routing of the cable on the chassis as you remove them from the system. Route these cables properly when you replace them to prevent the cables from being pinched or crimped.
Remove the screw that secures the power cable cover to PDB 1.
Lift the power cable cover up straight from the locking hole on PDB 1. Then, lift it out of PDB 1.

Remove the screws that secure the power cables to PDB 1.
Remove the screws that secure PDB 1 to the system.
Lift PDB 1 away from the system.

Lift the PDB connector bridge board from the system.

Disconnect all the cables from PDB 2.
Remove the screw that secures the power cable cover to PDB 2.
Lift power cable cover up straight from the locking hole on PDB 2. Then, lift it out of PDB 2.

Remove the screws securing the four power cables from PDB 2
Remove the four power cables from PDB 2.
Remove the screws that secure PDB 2 to the system.
Lift PDB 2 out of the system.
