Dell PowerStore Importing External Storage to PowerStore Guide

Dell EqualLogic PS Series specific requirements

(For non-disruptive import) See the PowerStore Simple Support Matrix document at dell.com/powerstoredocs for the supported combinations of host operating system, host multipath software, and host protocol that apply to Dell EqualLogic Peer Storage (PS) Series systems.

NOTE:(For non-disruptive import) If you are not running the Dell EqualLogic Host Integration Tools Kit, you can use the PowerStore cluster ImportKIT which uses native MPIO.

(For agentless import) See the PowerStore Simple Support Matrix document at dell.com/powerstoredocs for the supported types of source systems and the version of operating environment that is required for the agentless import.

NOTE:All hosts taking part in an import process should have initiator names in the standard IQN format of iqn.yyyy-mm.naming-authority:unique name. Although PS source systems support friendly names, such as *.*.*.* or 172.92.*.* for the standard IQN format, PowerStore only supports valid standard IQN format. Import fails when friendly IQN names are used. In this case, the initiator names must be changed to valid full IQN names on all the associated hosts before attempting an import of external storage to PowerStore.
