Removing the display assembly

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the base cover.
  3. Remove the I/O-board interposers.
  4. Remove the heat sink.
  5. To remove the display assembly:
    1. Open the latch and disconnect the camera cable from the system board [1].
    2. Peel the camera cable from the palm-rest and keyboard assembly [2].
    3. Peel the tape that secures the display-cable bracket to the system board [3].
    4. Remove the two screws (M1.6x1.8) that secure the display-cable bracket to the system board and lift the bracket off the system board [4].
    5. Using the pull tab, disconnect the display cable from the system board [5].
    6. Remove the two screws (M2x4) that secure the wireless-antenna bracket to the I/O board and lift the bracket off the I/O board [6].
    7. Disconnect the antenna cables from the I/O board [7].

    8. Open the computer at a 180-degree angle and place it on a flat and clean surface with the display screen facing down.
    9. Remove the six screws (M2.5x4) that secure the display assembly to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly [1].
    10. Lift the display assembly from the palm-rest assembly [2].
