Removing the Heatsink

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove the:
    1. base cover
    2. battery
    • NOTE: The appearance of the heatsink and the number of screws will vary if you purchased your computer with an integrated graphics card.
  3. Perform the following steps to remove the heatsink:
    1. Remove the screws that secure the heatsink to the system board.
    2. Lift the heatsink off the system board.
