Removing the Palmrest Assembly

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove the:
    1. base cover
    2. battery
    3. hard drive
    4. speakers
    5. WLAN card
    6. coin-cell battery
    7. mSATA card
    8. fans
    9. heatsink
    10. power connector
    11. I/O board
    12. memory module(s)
    13. system board
    14. keyboard
  3. Remove the screws that secure the display hinges to the palmrest assembly.

  4. Lift the palmrest assembly away from the display assembly.
    • CAUTION:Lift the palmrest assembly slowly to avoid damaging the display assembly.
