Removing the display assembly

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer .
  2. Remove the:
    1. battery cover

    2. battery

    3. base cover

    4. hard drive

    5. keyboard

    6. WLAN card

    7. WWAN card

    8. palmrest

  3. Perform the following as shown in the illustration:
    1. Remove the screws that secure the display hinge cap to the computer [1].
    2. Remove the display hinge cap away from the computer [2].

  4. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration:
    1. Flip the computer and remove the cosmetic screws from the bottom and back of the computer [1].
    2. Pull up the antenna cables through the routing hole [2].

  5. Perform the following as shown in the illustration:
    1. Remove the screw that secure s the eDP cable bracket [1].
    2. Remove the eDP cable bracket [2].
    3. Peel off the tape on the heat pipe and disconnect the eDP cable from the system board [3, 4].
    4. Remove the screws that secure the display assembly to the computer and remove it from the computer [5, 6].
