Removing the I/O Panel and the USB 3.0 Ports

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove:
    1. front bezel

    2. left cover

    3. front cover

  3. Disconnect all the cables from the I/O panel. Figure displaying the disconnection of all the cables from the I/O panel.
  4. Remove the screws that secure the I/O panel assembly to the computer chassis. Figure displaying the removal of the screws that secure the I/O panel to the chassis.
  5. Pull the I/O panel assembly in a direction opposite to the computer to release its edge from the chassis clip. Figure displaying the release of one edge of the I/O panel from the chassis.
  6. Slide the opposite edge of the I/O panel assembly outward to disengage the I/O assembly from the chassis. Figure displaying the removal of the front I/O module from the chassis.
  7. Remove the screws that secure the USB 3.0 module to the I/O panel assembly and remove it from the computer. Figure displaying the removal of the screws that secure the USB 3.0 module to the I/O panel.
  8. Remove the screws that secure the I/O panel and remove it from the I/O panel assembly. Figure displaying the removal of the I/O panel from the computer.
