SmartFabric OS10 provides the following network-based applications that use other protocols.

Service/application Network protocol Description
LLDP LLDP Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP) is a L2 protocol that is used to discover nodes in the network.
LACP LACP Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP) is a L2 protocol that is used to aggregate Ethernet interfaces.
PNAC(802.1x) EAPOL Extensible Authentication Protocol over LAN (EAPoL) is a L2 protocol that is used for client authentication on switch ports. EAPoL packets are L2 packets.
OSPF IP Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) packets are encapsulated in IP with protocol 89.
