Installing the 1.8 inch uSATA SSD backplane
Prerequisites
CAUTION: Many repairs may only be done by a certified service technician. You should only perform troubleshooting and simple repairs as authorized in your product documentation, or as directed by the online or telephone service and support team. Damage due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not covered by your warranty. Read and follow the safety instructions that are shipped with your product.
- Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions section.
- Follow the procedure listed in before working inside your system.
- Remove the 1.8 inch SSD cage.
NOTE: The 1.8 inch SSD backplane is installed on the back of the 1.8 inch SSD cage.
Steps
- Slide the SSD backplane tab into the slot on the SSD cage.
- Align the screw hole on the SSD backplane with the screw hole on the SSD cage.
- Secure the SSD backplane to the SSD cage by
using the screw.
