Removing the hard drive assembly

  1. Follow the procedure in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove the:
  3. To remove the hard drive assembly:
    1. Remove the screw that secures the hard drive assembly to the front bezel door [1].
    2. Disconnect the hard drive assembly cables from the connectors on the hard drive [2, 3] .
    3. Open the front bezel door [4].
    4. Hold the metal tabs on both sides and pull the hard drive assembly out of the computer [6] .

  4. To remove the hard drive from the hard drive bracket:
    1. Remove the screws that secure the hard-drive bracket to the hard drive.
    2. Remove the hard drive from the hard drive bracket.
