Table 1. Back panel features and indicatorsItem 1 is the serial connector that allows you to connect a serial device to the system. Item 2 is the vFlash media card slot that allows you to insert a vFlash media card. Item 3 is the iDRAC8 Enterprise port that is the dedicated management port. Item 4 are PCIe expansion card slots that enable you to connect PCI Express expansion cards. Item 5 are power supply unit (PSU1 and PSU2) that enables you to install up to two 350 W redundant AC power supply units. Item 6 are the USB connectors that allows you to connect USB devices to the system. The ports are USB 3.0-compliant. Item 7 are the ethernet connectors that has two integrated 10/100/1000 Mbps NIC connectors. Item 8 is the system identification button on the front and back panels that can be used to locate a particular system within a rack. When one of these buttons is pressed, the LCD panel on the front and the system status indicator on the back flash until one of the buttons is pressed again. Press to toggle the system ID on and off. If the system stops responding during POST, press and hold the system ID button for more than five seconds to enter BIOS progress mode. Item 9 is the system identification connector that connects the optional system status indicator assembly through the optional cable management arm. Item 10 is the video connector that allows you to connect a VGA display to the system.

8System identification buttonsystem identification iconEnables you to locate a particular system within a rack. The identification buttons are on the front and back panels. When one of these buttons is pressed, the LCD panel on the front and the system status indicator on the back flash until one of the buttons is pressed again.

Press the system identification button to turn the system ID on or off.

If the system stops responding during POST, press and hold the system ID button for more than five seconds to enter BIOS progress mode.

To reset iDRAC (if not disabled in F2 iDRAC setup), press and hold the button for more than 15 seconds.
