Installing the External Antenna

  1. External antenna.Internal Antenna
  2. To install the antenna on the system:
    1. Remove the caps from the antenna cable [1].
    2. Loosen and remove the nut [2].
    3. Remove the metallic washer [3].Internal Antenna
    4. Push the blank filler with a screw driver.Internal Antenna
    5. Insert the antenna cables into the antenna slot on the chassis [1].
    6. Replace the metal washers on to the antenna connectors [2].
    7. Replace the nuts to secure the antenna connectors to the chassis [3].Internal Antenna
    8. Affix the retention clip on the chassis as show in the image [1].
    9. Route the antenna cable through the retention clip [2].
    10. Pull off the insulation on the antenna cable connectors [3].Internal Antenna
    11. Connect the antenna connectors to the connectors on the WLAN card.
    12. Tighten the antenna to the antenna cable connector screws.
  3. Install the:
    1. Hard drive and optical drive module

    2. Front bezel

    3. Side cover

  4. Follow the procedure in After working inside your computer.
