Removing the HeatSink Fan

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove:
    1. left cover

    2. heatsink

    3. memory shroud (center)
  3. Push the grommets outward to release the heatsink fan from the assembly. Figure displaying the loosening of the heat-sink fan from its compartment by pushing the retention tabs outward.
  4. Remove the heatsink fan from the heatsink assembly. Figure displaying the removal of the heatsink fan from the heat sink assembly.
