Dell Mobile Adapter SpeakerPhone MH3021P Power requirements.

Dell Mobile Adapter SpeakerPhone MH3021P Power requirements.

When a customer is using the Dell Mobile Adapter SpeakerPhone MH3021P they have the option of having it powered by the systems (USB Type-C) or by attaching the systems A/C power adapter to the speakerphone directly. When the customer attaches the A/C power adapter to the speakerphone itself, the speakerphone will reserve 15w of power for itself. This will lower the amount of power being transferred to the system during use and may generate an undersized power adapter error during post or while in Windows.

Example: Customer attaches 90w adapter to the MH3021P speakerphone, it will reserve 15w for itself and transfer 75w to the system.

Power Source Plugged into MH3021P Power to Laptop**
130W 90W
90W 75W
65W 50W
45W 30W

Customers do not have to provide dedicated power to the speakerphone but will get additional functionality from the MH3021P speakerphone if they do. When the MH3021P speakerphone has an A/C adapter connected to it, it will allow it to be a powered USB hub to power external devices such as USB hard drives. Without the A/C adapter connected to the MH3021P speakerphone, the USB ports on the speakerphone can only be used to power devices such as keyboards, mice and USB memory keys.

Please note, the Dell Mobile Adapter SpeakerPhone MH3021P can only output a maximum of 90w to the system. If the system requires 130w, it will need a 130w adapter connected to the system or the battery will drain during usage.
