DellEMC Oracle Deployment Tar Gunzip - DellEMC-Oracle-Deployment-El6-11gR2-2018.10-1.tar.gz

The DellEMC Oracle Deployment Tar Gunzip release assists in the deployment of Oracle on Dell Tested and Validated Configurations. Once the tar file has been unarchived, there will be a number of RPMs that are located in the resulting directory.

To unarchive the file, execute the following command:
tar -zxvf DellEMC-Oracle-Deployment-EL6-11gR2-2018.10-1.tar.gz

The resulting directory will be entitled DellEMC-Oracle-Deployment-EL6-11gR2-2018.10-1 and rpms will be placed in this directory.

DellEMC Validated rpm in the DellEMC Oracle Deployment Tar Gunzip automates certain pieces of the installation process required for the installation of Oracle

DellEMC Oracle Utilities rpm in the DellEMC Oracle Deployment Tar Gunzip  does the following:
  • Create Grid user,Grid Infrastructure directories, set ownership, and permissions
  • Create Oracle user,Oracle Database directories, set ownership, and permissions
  • Set pam limits within (/etc/pam.d/login)
  • Set SELinux to Disabled
  • Set kernel parameters
