Adding ELMS License on Data Domain. Reference Dell EMC Knowledge Base article number: 545135 This video was created to: Show the steps to apply the elicense file to Data Domain GUI.
Before you begin: The instructions to create the elicense will be provided to you via email for a newly purchased Data Domain system. In case you’d like to increase the functionality of Data Domain by adding more licensed features to it, you will have to opt for new licenses.
These will be provided to you by our licensing team. If you update the license, please note that the previous licenses will be overwritten. Hence, verify that old and new licenses are added to the same .lic file. Let’s begin. Log in to the Data Domain GUI as a user with an admin or limited admin role.
Click on “Administration” and then “Licenses”. If licenses were already present on the system, we get the “Replace Licenses” option.
Otherwise, you will see the “Add Licenses” option. In our case, we already have evaluation licenses, so let’s go ahead and click on “Replace Licenses”. Browse for the .lic file and select it. Click on “Apply”. Verify that the licenses are updated accordingly.
